Google Chrome has expanded its efforts to block annoying ads within video content. You can get the full story here in the article from Search Engine Journal, but the bottom line(s) are:
- Don’t use long, non-skippable ads or groups of ads longer than 31 seconds that appear before a video.
- Don’t use ads of any duration that appear in the middle of a video.
- Don’t use ads that appear on top of a playing video and are in the middle third of the video player window (or cover more than 20% of the video content).
- If your video is over 8 minutes long these rules don’t apply.
