So many digital opportunities have been lost because there was traffic but no conversion. It’s incredibly wasteful to put in the work and time to build traffic to your website, if that same website has no hope of converting that traffic into sales.
Conversion is tricky. The strategy is different for every business, and it often requires assets that many businesses simply don’t have, and don’t know how to create. Things such as videos, how to guides, testimonials, free trials, sales offers, e-books and more can all be useful parts of a conversion mechanism, but only if they’re done well. Only if they’re built with the prospect in mind. Only if they’re deployed in the correct fashion.
Good websites/conversion mechanisms romance the prospect and gradually entice them into committing. Unfortunately most websites aren’t good, they’re pretty awful in fact. They simply say “This is what we have, buy it”. Unsurprisingly this doesn’t generate a lot of new work.
